The Mason Green Foundation: Let your heart shine was founded in 2015 in memory of Mason Green, shortly after his life was taken by brain cancer. The mission of the foundation is to raise awareness, further research, and increase funding for pediatric cancer, especially brain cancer. The foundation also supports pediatric cancer patients and their families as well as providing scholarships within the community.
Childhood cancer is the #1 disease killer in children in the United States. Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer.
In 80% of kids with cancer, the cancer has already spread to other areas of the body by the time it's diagnosed. 1 in 5 children diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. will not survive.
Because of the treatments they had as kids, by the time they are in their 30's or 40's, more than 95% of childhood cancer survivors will have chronic health problems and 80% will have severe or life-threatening conditions. Finding the cause of cancer is the first step to preventing it.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month. Please join us in supporting this cause by taking ACTION to find a cure for childhood cancer so no other family will have to suffer from this horrible disease. Raising awareness is as simple as wearing gold, sharing a photo, sending an email, or donating to a worthwhile organization. We would love for you to consider Mason's foundation if you choose to donate. The foundation will be sharing those funds to further research and help others affected by childhood cancer.
